What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a revolutionary treatment that straightens your teeth and gets them into proper alignment. It’s a technologically modern alternative to traditional metal braces that works by using a series of clear, plastic retainers that gradually and gently shift your teeth into their proper place.
How does Invisalign work?
If you and Dr. Shine decide that Invisalign is right for you, the first thing she does is take impressions of your teeth, which she’ll either do with physical molds or a 3D scanner.
These impressions are then used to make a virtual model of your teeth in their current state, a model of your teeth in their target alignment, and a number of models in between, detailing the precise progression of your teeth as they move into alignment.
A series of clear, plastic retainers are then created for the various stages between your current and target alignment. You wear your Invisalign retainer whenever you’re not eating or brushing your teeth, and move on to the next retainer about every two weeks. Your teeth can reach their target alignment in as little as nine months, giving you a happier and healthier smile without the pain and inconvenience of traditional metal braces.
